Catering Services

Here at the RSA Academy our highly trained and experienced, award winning, in-house catering team offer high quality meals at an affordable price. We continue to offer exciting and popular “value for money” lunchtime menus that are freshly prepared and cooked on site (which offer meat and vegetarian options) designed in line with the government statutory standards for school meals ensuring your child receives a healthy balanced meal.

A two course Hot Meal Deal (Main course, pudding & drink) is available at £2.20

For those who prefer something light a range of “Lite Bites”, jacket potatoes with various fillings and chicken wraps are available from £1.50 (see full price list)

Freshly made sandwiches/baguettes and wraps are also available from £1.40 (see full price list)

A variety of approved drinks are also available. (See price full price list)

We try to ensure that we use the freshest ingredients from our locally sourced suppliers, as this is an important element to providing the highest quality meals. All of the meat we use in our menus is sourced from British farms and has Assured Food Standards Red Tractor certification.

We have again achieved a 5* star hygiene rating – 2nd September 2014 – as well as receiving an award for Independent School Caterer of the Year 2013.

Cashless Catering System

Our cashless system recognises each individual pupil. Once the swipe card is placed on a card reader, key information can be seen by the catering staff. Each pupil’s card holds individual cash balances; records of cash spent and cash received, which monitors money spent on food for any specific date and time of day.

Main benefits

  • Convenient way of paying for Academy meals, no more looking for change every morning.
  • Discourages the misuse of dinner money through spending in shops outside of the Academy grounds.
  • Alleviates many of associated problems with the use of cash in schools. i.e.: Loss, theft and bullying.
  • Healthy eating is encouraged.
  • Queuing times are reduced through increased speed of service.
  • Automatic free meal allocation with the pupil remains anonymous.
