We are delighted to inform you that we have a new online system for 2014 that will allow you to follow your child’s progress at the Academy. You can access the system via www.go4schools.com then navigate to the Parents section or by clicking on this link. This section of the website guides you through setting up your account, accessing your child’s grades and interpreting what you can see.
What can you expect to see?
We have produced this document to guide you through what you can expect to see on Go4Schools. You may also find these documents useful when viewing your child’s reports:
- Key Stage 3 (years 7 and 8) Tracking Academic Progress – A parent’s perspective
- Key Stage 4 (years 9, 10 and 11) Tracking Academic Progress – A parent’s perspective
- Key Stage 5 (years 12 and 13) Tracking Academic Progress – A parent’s perspective
When will I have access to Go4Schools?
Parents and carers of year 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 students will have access to Go4Schools from Monday 17th November 2014. For years 12 and 13, students will receive access to their portals during week beginning 1st December 2014 and parents will receive access during week beginning 8th December 2014.
There appear to be missing grades, why is this?
There could be missing grades for one of three reasons. Firstly, in Key Stage 3 (year 7 and 8) only English and Maths subjects input predicted grades. This is due to recent changes set out by the Department of Education. We are currently reviewing the way in which we monitor student progress at Key Stage 3. However, in order for you to monitor your child’s progress we have provided you with a Subject Progress Grade at Key Stage 3. If we have a member of staff on long term absence we may not have been able to provide accurate information for your child in a particular subject. If this is the case it should be clearly indicated on your child’s latest report. If your child joined the school part way through the school year, there will not have been sufficient time to assess them. If you have any particular concerns over missing data please contact your child’s form tutor or email: email@example.com.
How do I access Go4Schools for the first time?
Go to the Academy website and in the MIS portal section click on the link for Go4Schools – Parents. You can also get to the portal by searching for Go4Schools in your browser and navigating to the parents section.
If you are using Go4Schools for the first time, please go straight to the “First-time user” section. This will take you to the login page where you will need to activate your account by typing in the email address that you have registered with the Academy.
You will be sent a password via email to your registered address, which you can then use to login. We recommend ticking the ‘remember my email address’ box and adding this page to your favourites.
If you have not yet registered an email address with the Academy you will not be able to access this system. If you wish to register or wish to amend/update your current email address to your contact details please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
