Last Friday, year 10 RSA Academy dance students were visited by Fidgit Dance company for a short performance and workshop. Students took part in a 2 hour contemporary dance class that explored physicality and stamina through performance and had the chance to work closely with the artists who are currently attending Brighton University.
RSA Academy students were treated to a short performance in the Theatre and were then given the opportunity to learn a section of the dance and then develop their skills as choreographers. This was a fantastic experience that allowed them to see first hand the standard of work at University level.
University lecturer Lucy Pocknell was very impressed by the high standards and ability of the RSA Academy dancers she stated:
“What an enthusiastic and talented group of young dancers. They are incredibly dedicated and it is fantastic to see them studying Dance as part of their education.”
