After two weeks, twenty-six competitors and thirty-six nail-biting games, the ‘2017 RSA Academy Chess Tournament’ Grand Final took place this morning.

True to form, our two Chess Tournament finalists, who had each overcome five previous competitors, locked in intellectual combat for an intense, hard-fought game.

After an initial bought of caginess, followed by a flurry of attacks, Josh triumphed when Will conceded the match, having only his King left on the board.

The RSA Academy would like to congratulate Josh on his stunning victory, Will on a well-fought game, and all of the other competitors and spectators who have helped to make this year’s Chess Tournament such a fantastic spectacle.

Our two finalists deep in thought
